late post 16/12/2011

it's jason's LAST DAY OF YEAR 6!!! highlight of the day? remember Kane Qian? the guy who marvelled at my brother's really 'nice' and 'bouncy' hair and asked for a strand? and still had it about a week later?

well, on the last day of school he took out one of his yugioh cards and asked my brother to sign it. HE ASKED FOR HIS AUTOGRAPH!!! i was like D: wow he really is a big fan of jason's!! omg jason has a little fan!! this is so cute!!!!!

i managed to sneak a photo! >:D

but then it turns out that Kane was asking other people to sign his yugioh cards as well, so i guess he isnt that much of a fan of him then ...

shoe art in beijing

So yeah. apparently jason has tumblr now. D: that's weird. do you guys remember the URL of jason's blog? cause i might take it off my tumblr so he doesnt go on it :D

anyway. we lived in a hotel for 6 nights in beijing. it was very nice. except the bathtub kept clogging (like the rate of water going down the drain was slower than the amount of water coming out of the shower head ... do you guys know what i mean?) and sometimes the heating got really stuffy. even though we set the air conditioning to 5 degrees. ALSO the window was openable ... like just a teeny bit but enough for you to drop ... say like your glasses/wallet down. if you dropped your wallet you could probably still get it by going down but your glasses would probably ... shatter. not very safe in my opinion.

anyway.the hotel gives you slippers. and it was really funny cause every night they would give you new slippers or something and in the end i think we had more slippers than we needed haha! well my brother decided to 'personalise' his slippers so that they wouldn't get meddled with other people's ...

??

??

??

later i found out that he added even more to his slippers ...

??

can someone please comment or email me to tell me if the photos actually show up on the blog and tell me any other problems with the posts? thanks :D

25/12/2011

i FINALLY got around to fixing up my itunes. i was adding songs and stuff into my library and, naturally, some song names go weird and stuff up so i had to play some of the songs, identify them and rename them.

so Raining Diamonds went weird so i decided to open it and see what song it was.

the beginning is way too loud so i turn it down. suddenly my brother runs in, giggling, like a child really proud that they witnessed something really cool and funny and that they were so sure they would amaze the person they would tell, and shouted 'omg you know how sometimes the volume's too loud when you turn on your TV so you turn down the volume immediately?' nodded, then played Raining Diamonds again (i paused it when Jason ran in). then Jason's expression changed dramatically and murmured 'oh crap. that was you.' and i started laughing and said 'did you think it was next door?' and then jason did that whole OMG THIS IS AWKWARD AHHHH THE EMBARRASSMENT IS OVERWHELMING ME face and started laughing. ahahahahhahahahahahahha.

:) yay been ages since I posted on my blogs ... Sorry guys! Been in Beijing for a week and sadly the hotel did not have free Internet. Beijing's metro system is nowhere as good as Guangzhou's ... For several reasons:

1. Like Australia, getting to the airport via train/metro costs much more than a usual ticket. In Guangzhou getting to the airport is 7 or 8 yuan ish ... Which is the equivalent to like a little over 1 dollar in AUD. dollars. Dollar. Sounds weird. Anyway. It costs 25 yuan in Beijing ... And you have to buy a separate ticket to go to the airport. But compared to Australia's $10+ that's nothing ...
2. You have to walk like ... Several hundred meters to change lines. Like omg. Changing trains is so annoying! You walk in this tunnel thing and just keep walking and walking and walking ... Sometimes it feels like it will never end :(
3. Bag scanner things are really annoying. The first time I caught the metro I was like :O what the he'll is happening?! Turns out that if you take a bag with you (including normal little side bag thingos) you have to shove it into this scanner thing like at the airport :/ weird? Seems quite inconvenient when you catch the metro every day to work or school ...... But then again when I told cousin Winyi she said that that's also the case in Guangzhou when there are special events on.

And another side note ... Airport security much more strict. Like in Guangzhou bit though ... More strict that international :/ they made me take my boots off and take out this small cosmetics scissors I had ... And fully scanned my whole body. International is just like .. No food. then ladida they don't really make you take stuff off. Unless the machine beeps like crazy I guess ....

I just realized how much I diggressed. ANYWAY. 'today' we went to 天坛 which is the temple of heaven. It was the tourist attraction that was the most boring and seemed to be a waste of time. Probably cause it was right after the summer palace which was ... Omg SO PRETTY. So my brother was talking and all of a sudden he was like '我们现在是不是在天堂? ' which means are we currently in heaven. Cause 天坛 is similar in pronunciation to 天堂. And then obviously my mum starts bursting out laughing but of course hurriedly said that whole 大吉利是 thing which kind of means ... Touch wood? I dunno. Yeah. But then my brother argued and said what?! After my mum explained his mistake to him, saying that being in heaven is good, cause you're not in hell.

Later that night we finally found a shopping centre (not really .. Like Coles/woolies? You know ... 超市?)! (a few days later we found a grocery store opposite our hotel ... We felt like idiots). Jason wanted to point out this pantene shampoo to me (mum wanted to buy some shampoo and conditioner and hair gel cause she didn't like the ones that the hotel provided) but then ended up knocking down the entire row. He was like 'Jennifer, look!' and then he pointed ... But then the row of pantene bottles fell down like dominoes :L it was even more awkward cause the woman trying to recommend shampoo products to my mum did that whole tsk tsk thing and said that they fell down very easily. Jason was just like >.> (my msn emoticon which consists of this yellow person looking left then right then left then right suspiciously). Later he figured out why he knocked it over.

Turns out he was wearing stiff (leather?) gloves which were too big for him so his fingers didn't go the end. So when he pointed he was expecting his fingers to just meet the shampoo ... But then the extra bit of the glove finger managed to be stiff enough to knock over the entire row. Yeah, when he told me we laughed really hard cause we thought it was so funny :D

I honestly should post some other things ... Except I need photos and this iPad won't get my photos off my camera. The only computer in the house is permanently jogged by my brother who has played ... Mahjong and ... Crossfire? And a whole bunch of- RIGHT AND YUGIOH other games. He won't even let me play. He's a hogger.

Today he was playing on cousin Charles' iPad and I really wanted to play cause I'd never played the games before and they looked really fun ... But HE HOGGED IT FOR THE WHOLE LUNCH AND EVEN WHEN I COMPLAINEDTO COUSIN WINYI HE STILL DIDN'T LET ME PLAY. Meanie poo.

it's the last day of 2011! and i'm busy trying to empty all our camera SD cards and everything ... sigh ==' ANYWAY this video is from heaps long ago ... did i tell you guys about the troll face card? well, my brother made a troll face card which he intended to give to Katherine. except apparently he lost it. then he found it. well i got him to be in a video with it and i said i would show Katherine :) well, i am now right? just in public. so i DID ask for permission -nods-

20/12/2011 - mints

so lately my brother has been getting addicted to these mints of mine. they come in this little box and look like drugs. i'm going to make a post about that some time on my own blog (i can't at the moment since it's heavily linked to photos - to show its resemblance - and the photos are all on jason's computer).

these mints look and taste exactly the same as these other census mints that i gave to my friends on the train (Katherine and Roslyn). i clearly remember them commenting on how the mints tasted just like sugar.

so when jason asked me if he could have one (for like the 3rd time) i said 'no! they're just sugar!!!' so he got the message and then shushed. then came a period of silence ....

then suddenly jason comes to me and asks 'did you just say that these mints are just sugar?' to which i replied with 'yeah ...' and then he shows me the tin and starts laughing and says 'HAHAHHAHAHHAHA but they're sugar free mints!!!!!!!!!'

so i was like ==' i mean ... HE KNOWS WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. but it was really funny at the time so we both erupted into laughter at how i was totally wrong. i took a photo of the label at the back but the photo is on jason's computer so i just took another one just then on my phone (so the quality isnt so good) haha i replaced the photo with the better one now :D

sugar free mints which i said were 'just sugar'

20/12/2011 - low voice

in my primary school they have a 'year 6 farewell song' which everyone in the grade has to learn and sing at the farewell. in my brother's year it was Don't Worry Be Happy by Guy Sebastian.

so my brother said that when he was rehearsing (or was it the real thing?) he was singing really loudly (you know, when you're happy and enthusiastic you sing loudly), but then some girls around him turned to have a look at him because he had a really low voice :( when my brother told me this he said that meanwhile he disregarded it but in his mind he was actually going 'NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO' and he did the whole put-hands-on-ears-and-vigorously-shake-head-out-of-embarrassment thing. i felt so sorry for him :(

he said that that was one of the reasons why he's really looking forward to next year. he says that since it's high school it's more likely that there will be more boys with low voices, so he wont feel like the odd one out :')
